21 Weeks Pregnant (Day 141 to Day 147)
What happens to you?
The time has come for a level II ultrasound. Its main purpose is to scan fetal anatomy.
From now on, your uterus will grow upwards, 1 cm per week. You can feel your baby intensely.
Your hand and foot joints get loose due to the hormonal changes induced by your pregnancy. You may notice swelling in your feet and ankles. Drink plenty of water and rest with your legs up on a pillow.
Advice: Try to keep your body temperature low. Stay away from hot tubs and saunas.
What happens to your baby?
Your baby’s growth is starting to slow down but its heart is growing stronger, beating even faster and louder than yours.
Teeth are beginning to form under the gums and body hair is starting to appear on brows, eyelids and nails.
