20 Weeks Pregnant (Day 134 to Day 141)
What happens to you?
You are halfway through your pregnancy. You may experience breathing difficulty, which is normal as the baby pushes up on your lungs.
The top of your uterus is at the same level with belly button.
Advice: Make sure you get enough iron either through food or iron supplements. Your baby needs iron to build healthy red blood cells. Be careful, though... Never take any supplements without a doctor’s prescription.
What happens to your baby?
Your baby’s nervous system starts to develop. This means that your baby responds to external stimuli, such as sounds, light, movements.
It is able to move, but its bones are very soft and you cannot feel it yet.
The ears are becoming visible on the sides of the head and they protrude. A sticky white substance called vernix caseosa covers the entire body of your baby in order to protect it as long as it stays in the amniotic fluid.
Gallbladder releases the bile, necessary for food digestion.
