16 Weeks Pregnant (Day 106 to Day 112)
What happens to you?
By week 16 of your pregnancy, you have probably gained 2 to 5 kilos. Your uterus is growing fast and you might experience some discomfort due to the thickening and stretching tissue.
If you haven't already felt your baby move, chances are you will do so this week.
Your uterus is halfway between your pubic bone and bellybutton.
As days are passing, the risk of miscarriage diminishes.
Advice: If you experience fever, vomiting, strong low back pain, vaginal discharge or you are having more than 4-5 contractions in one hour call your doctor immediately.
What happens to your baby?
Your baby is going through a growth spurt. Development of external genitalia is complete. Some of the most functional systems of the body are functioning normally, including the circulatory and urinary system.
Baby’s length has now reached 10 centimeters and weighs 80 grams.
