3 Weeks Pregnant (Day 15 to Day 21)
What happens to you?
Sperm swims towards the fallopian tubes. Millions of sperm cells besiege the egg. Only one of them succeeds to fulfill its aim! Fertilization accomplished! Egg and sperm form a single cell, the Zygote. Zygote divides to form 2, 4, 8, 16 cells, thus creating the blastocyst. The blastocyst travels through the fallopian tubes into the uterine cavity. The blastocyst comes into contact with the endometrium.
What happens to your baby?
At the time of conception the sex of the baby is determined by the X and Y chromosomes that are carried by the father’s sperm.
