28 Weeks Pregnant (Day 190 to Day 196)
What happens to you?
You can now do a Doppler ultrasound. The Doppler scan (triplex vessel flow) is one of the most important indicators of your baby’s health and is always combined with measurements that confirm your baby’s correct development. It measures: Baby’s basic anatomical parameters, amniotic fluid, placenta, as well as embryo’s mobility, cardiac function and normal development and function of its systems and organs.
You may have contractions or menstrual-like back pains. If they appear to be more than 4-5 per hour, you should contact your doctor immediately.
You should visit your doctor every two weeks or so in order to check the uterus, arterial pressure and baby’s development. Take frequent blood tests. They are necessary so as to check your baby’s health.
During this period, you may gain up to five kilos.
Advice: Keep eating healthy... Consult your doctor, you might need a vitamin boost.
